Columbian Camping Water Jug 1950s
The Columbian Company in Terre Haute, IN has been manufacturing and licensing home products for over 125 years and this vintage, 1950s Columbian Insulated Water Jug is one of their finest. The jug is made of aluminum and is 10 inches across the top, nine inches at the base, and seven inches tall. It weighs about five pounds and has an aluminum handle and plactic lid and screw on cap. The cooler has a turn screw water spout. When the jug is turned from side to side you can hear a sand like sound and depending on how the jug is lined, the liner may be damaged. Regardless, it's a great decorating item and will still hold and vend ice and water. So, pack the family into the station wagon, head for your favorite retreat, and remember to always "Do It In The Basement."
