German Mining, Train, or Traffic Lantern - Vintage

This is a vintage, German industrial lantern of some sort. It’s 14” tall, pressed metal and open at the bottom. There are four faceted, orange, glass reflectors through which the inside light would shine. The impressed inscriptions read, “Ruckstrahler, S. Stockinger, Munchen 4S, Aronstabster $, Ampel D.P., Mannesmann, Rohrleitungsbau, Munchen.” The inside has soot and a candle wax residue, so it does not appear to have ever been electrified or kerosene-powered. It appears to have been light green at one time and has been repainted to orange. The metal is in excellent condition, as are the glass reflectors. The handle is welded in place. It could have been a mining lantern or a traffic signal - just not sure which. This is a piece of German history, and a wonderful piece of vintage transportation.
