There's no doubt that singer/songwriter Tom Waits is, by himself, a one-man beatnik revival. He delivers his mumbling jive in a cancerous growl while being accompanied by a jazz saxophone or piano. The Heart of Saturday Night was his second release on Asylum Records in 1974 and featured Shiver Me Timbers, Diamonds On My Windshield, New Coat of Paint, and many more.
